Feds seize nine kilos of drugs from Tulum beaches

Tulum, Q.R. — Members of the Policía Federal were busy over the weekend seizing packages of drugs found washed up on Tulum beaches.

A total of nine kilos was found in different areas with the first being reported outside the Royal Catalonia Tulum hotel after police were alerted to the mysterious package.

When they arrived, the found the rectangular package that, when opened, contained 5.7 kilos of marijuana.

The second report came in for a suspicious package seen on the beach at the Bahia Principe hotel. When police arrived, they found that wrapped package contained 3.8 kilos of marijuana.

Both packages were handed over to the agent of the Public Ministry of the Common Jurisdiction in Solidaridad for investigations.
