Tulum, Q.R. — Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo says his administration will soon deploy a specialized beach police unit for the municipality of Tulum. Castañón Trejo made the announcement Tuesday morning during a municipal meeting.

He said the first nearly two dozen elements of the Executive Police are almost ready who will be used exclusively to patrol hotel zone beaches.
During the tenth ordinary session of the Tulum City Council meeting, Castañón Trejo reported that the first 22 elements of the Executive Police will soon enter into service.
He says all 22 recently completed mandatory police testing in Chetumal and all 22 passed. With that, they will soon be deployed along beaches in the Tulum Hotel Zone.
“It seems that they all passed the tests. I already spoke with David Ortiz Mena, President of the Tulum Hotel Association, who told me that they will be placed on the properties. They are only for the hotel zone, the hoteliers will take care of them,” Castañón Trejo said.
