Tulum, Q.R. — Municipal officials from Tulum are looking into ways of better marking a roundabout as an immediate solution while they consider a redesign. Engineers met at the town’s northern roundabout Friday after a Wednesday night accident left a car on its roof.
In a brief note, the City of Tulum reported “through SEDATU, complementary security actions have been strengthened around the roundabout. As an immediate measure, traffic cones will be placed on the upper contour of the roundabout in addition to constant surveillance.”
City Council members continue to work with personnel from the Secretaría de Desarrollo Agrario Territorial y Urbano (SEDATU) on a possible redesign. The current design has been blamed for traffic accidents and jams due to poor structuring.
