Cancun, Q.R. — Eight of the 13 bodies discovered near a safehouse of a criminal organization in Cancun have been identified. FGE deputy prosecutor Carlos Amaya Girón says that so far, eight victims have been positively identified using DNA.
“We have already identified eight. Some had missing persons files. The others are still in the process of being identified, but are believed to also have a missing persons report,” he said.
The bodies were located in clandestine graves last weekend after the arrest of 11 cartel members from a Cancun safehouse.
The remains of 13 bodies were found near the Paraíso Maya subdivision of Cancun last weekend after police stormed the safehouse. Inside, were 11 Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel members and three kidnapped victims.
