Early morning fire consumes two structures of Tulum hotel zone restaurant

Tulum, Q.R. — At least two structures belonging to a Tulum restaurant were destroyed by an early morning fire. Firefighters and Civil Protection personnel were at the scene of a fire at Rosa Negra Tulum early Wednesday.

Emergency services were notified of the fire after reports of a dense column of smoke was seen coming from the property. Firemen responded quickly to the reports of the fire in the hotel zone.

The fire is reported to have started in a storage area of the establishment where flames spread fast. Firefighters and Civil Protection personnel were able to control the fire before flames reached other sections of the restaurant.

According to initial reports, at least two palapas were completely destroyed.

Although the cause appears to be an electrical fault, authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause.

No injuries were reported. According to emergency crews, the affected structures include an engine room and a warehouse.
