Driver totals car after flipping along Tulum highway

Tulum, Q.R. — The young driver of a private car ended up on his roof on a municipal highway Wednesday morning. Police found the red car several meters off the highway in thick brush after motorists reports.

The 7:40 a.m. accident happened along a section of the Tulum-Cobá highway when a tire exploded. The driver lost control and plowed through several meters of grass before flipping and coming to a stop on his roof.

Inside, police found 29-year-old Eduardo “B” from Yucatan who said he was heading south when the accident happened. He was treated for minor injuries.

A flatbed tow truck was called in to upright the car and remove it from the side of the Tulum highway.
