Tulum, Q.R. — The driver of a car suffered serious injuries after a front tire blew while traveling along the Playa del Carmen-Tulum highway.
The man, who has been identified as Hotel Azul Tulum worker Mario S., was driving along the highway when his front passenger tire suddenly blew. After loosing control, he jumped the highway median where his car hit a palm tree.
The 6:00 p.m. accident happened approximately 12 kilometers south of Tulum. Police and ambulance personnel attended the scene. Mario S was transferred to hospital with serious injuries.
