Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — A motorcycle driver was killed Sunday night after hitting the back of a dump truck. Witnesses to the 9:30 p.m. accident told police the driver of the bike did not notice the parked vehicle.
The accident happened near the town of Juan Sarabia when the driver of the motorcycle hit the back of the heavy unit at highway speed. Police were at the scene along the section of Chetumal highway that runs to Villahermosa where the collision took place.
The driver of the motorcycle was found dead at the scene and pronounced by responding paramedics. He is reported to have been traveling the highway without a helmet.
The driver of the dump truck was detained from the scene and transferred to Public Security for the corresponding investigation.
