Tulum, Q.R. — Responders to reports of a single vehicle accident found the lifeless body of a driver in a highway ditch. On Monday morning, police were at the site of a motorcycle crash that left its driver dead.
The accident was reported outside a Tulum hotel along the federal 307 highway. Highway motorists reported seeing the male driver lose control of his bike and skid. His body was found deep in highway should brush a distance from his motorcycle.
Witnesses said the driver skidded several meters before slamming into a pole. National Guard and Civil Protection were part of the initial responding team Monday.
Authorities cordoned off the area and regulated traffic while forensic services removed the body. The victim’s identity has not been revealed.
