Tulum, Q.R. — A fatal two vehicle accident along the federal 109 has left one dead and four injured. The accident happened approximately 30 kilometers from the town of Tulum Friday.
Emergency services from Tulum were sent to the scene of the accident where they located two destroyed cars. The driver of one of the cars was found dead behind the wheel. Four others from inside the second car were injured, three of them seriously.
The near head-on collision happened between a Nissan Tsuru and a Nissan March. The driver of the March was found dead at the scene. Four men from inside the Tsuru, all reported to be area construction workers, were treated by Tulum Civil Protection paramedics before being transferred to hospital.
Three of the four men from inside the Tsuru were transferred in serious condition. Municipal Traffic were on site along with Municipal Police who had the road shut for several hours while the accident scene was cleared.
Police have not commented on what could have caused the deadly two vehicle crash.
