Tulum, Q.R. — The decomposing body of a man has been found washed up on a beach in the municipality of Tulum.
The grim discovery was made by beach walkers who reported the finding to police. The man, who is believed to be that of a missing person reported three days before, was found at Kilometer 8.5 along the beach inside the Reserva de la Biósfera de Sian Ka’an. He is believed to have drowned.
Agents of the Municipal Police have verified that the deceased male matches the description of a beachgoer that was recently reported as missing. Although the body does not show any signs of violence, an investigation and autopsy will be performed.
