Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man identified as a Colombian loan shark was murdered late Monday morning. The man was reported shot to death in a targeted hit near the Villas del Sol housing development.
Witnesses said they watched as a car pulled up beside the man, who was just getting off his parked motorcycle, and started shooting.
The incident happened in a residential area on CTM Avenue at the intersection with Halcones Street around 11:30 a.m.
Responding police found a male laying on a sidewalk who had been shot at least twice in the chest. Paramedics confirmed he had died at the scene.
The car responsible for the shooting sped off. Police launched a search but have yet to announce arrests.
The deceased man has not been officially named.
