Cocaine found washed up on Tulum beach

Tulum, Q.R. — While sargasso does continue to make it to shore, so do other items including drugs. A packaged of, what turned out to be cocaine, was found washed up with the seaweed outside Gran Bahia Principe Hotel.

The 1-kilo package was found Monday morning just before 9:00 a.m. along the shore. It was found by someone from the hotel who called police. Municipal Police reported that at 8:48 a.m. the Quintana Roo Police Department received a report that a block-shaped package wrapped in white plastic had been found.

They arrived and sealed off the area until members of the General Prosecutor’s Office arrived for their investigation.
