Chihuahua man arrested for the beating death of another inside Cancun Hotel Zone bar

Delicias, Chihuahua — Police officers in Delicias in the state of Chihuahua have arrested a man believed involved in a Cancun murder. Officers made the arrest on an outstanding warrant issued by the state of Quintana Roo. According to the State Attorney General’s Office, the arrest was possible after collaboration between the two states.

According to the State Investigation Agency of Chihuahua, the suspect was taken into custody Monday for his likely involvement in the death of a man inside a Cancun hotel bar. The incident happened in November of 2020 inside the bar of the Hotel Rui in Cancun when 24-year-old Álvaro René N, a native of Monterrey, was physically assaulted.

According to information provided, Álvaro René N died from injuries after being beaten by three individuals. He was hospitalized on the night of November 21 after the attack. He died three days later in a Cancun hospital.

The arrested suspect, Victor Manual N, has since been returned to Quintana Roo to face charges. Two others believed related to the murder, Adolfo N and Carlos Antonio N, both from city of Delicias in Chihuahua, are also wanted.
