Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — Firemen from Chetumal responded to a highway car fire Sunday afternoon. The old model car caught fire near the community of Huaypix, south of the city of Chetumal.
The car’s occupants stood and watched on the highway as the engine smoke turned to flames and spread to the rest of the car. National Guard and Green Angles were at the scene while they waited for firemen.
Chetumal firemen arrived in response to the request for assistance, but were unable to save the vehicle. There were no injuries reported.
