Cancun, Q.R. — Three men have been officially charged in the beating and strangulation death of a Cancun teenager last year. Police say Ian Oliver “N”, José “N” and Roger Saúl “N” have been charged in the January 2025 murder.
“According to the investigations, on January 6, 2025, the now accused, in the company of three other people, summoned the victim to the Terrenos colony neighborhood.

“Subsequently, they subdued the teenager and took him to a gap, where they beat him on the head, legs and abdomen. In addition, the aggressors used a rope to strangle him, causing his death by mixed asphyxiation,” police detailed in a statement.
According to the State Attorney General (FGE), Anthony de Jesús “N” and José Alexander “N” and Ian Oliver “N” have been charged with aggravated homicide.
“The investigations identify those under investigation as alleged members of a criminal group that generates violence and is dedicated to the sale and distribution of narcotics in the municipality,” the FGE said.
Police say to date, five people have been arrested and charged with the teen’s murder.
“During the arraignment hearings, resulting from compliance with the arrest warrants, the judge issued the order to formally charge the three men and imposed the precautionary measure of preventive detention for two years or the time that the judicial process lasts.”
