Cancun, Q.R. — Random weekend inspections of Cancun beachgoers was part of the duty assigned to patrolling officers. Over the weekend, police on ATVs made their presence known, patrolling Cancun Hotel Zone beaches and performing random inspections.
The patrol and inspections were part of the city’s Beach Reinforcement program to improve the safety and well-being of citizens. In a news brief, authorities said that the deployment of ATV officers was concentrated in the Hotel Zone where Tourist Police Officers carried out random inspections to prevent the commission of criminal acts or administrative misconducts.
The agency reported that police tours on Cancun city beaches are constant and is a way to strengthen social proximity and citizen perception.
