Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun police attended the scene of a fatal apartment fall from an eleventh floor Monday. A young girl of French nationality was found dead on the concrete below.
The incident happed at the Aria Tower in Puerto Cancun Monday evening. The young girl, who is reported to have been autistic, was playing on the balcony when she accidently fell over.
She has been identified as 14 year old Lian “N” who lived in the apartment with her mother. Both were from France.
According to early information, the girl was playing when she fell over the balcony to the concrete more than 100 feet below. Paramedics were called, but only to confirm the girl’s death.
Her mother was taken to hospital in response to an emotional breakdown.
Cancun authorities were notified of the accident around 6:00 p.m. through emergency 9-1-1. The caller reported that a minor had fallen from the Aria condominium next to the Puerto Cancun marina.
Following the report, personnel from the C5 Complex sent Tourist Police officers, paramedics, and Civil Protection personnel. Her body was found laying on the concrete between grass areas.

Authorities interviewed the girl’s family who stated that she had fallen from the 11th floor while on the balcony.
Authorities are investigating the events surrounding the girl’s death. Cancun police have not said if the girl and her mother were vacationing or residing in Cancun.
