Cancun, Q.R. — Chief of Police Alberto Capella Ibarra, has reported the capture of four men believed responsible for several robberies around Cancun.

The announcement of their arrests were published on social media with the head of police requesting public assistance in keeping them in custody, noting that anyone who recognizes them as their assailant needs to come forward to file an official complaint.

The four were arrested by Cancun police for their alleged involvement in robbing passersby on Cancun streets. Capella says they are believed responsible for at least five robberies of people, often after the victim has left a bank.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, the four are known to move around the city on motorcycles. The known assaults took place on April 12, November 28 and December 18, 2019 and on January 20 and March 3 of this year, however, police lack a positive identification by those who were assaulted.

Capella says anyone who was the victim of these men can make a report to Emergency 911 or anonymously to 089.
