Cancun, Q.R. — A cyclist that was run over by a dump truck Wednesday was taken to hospital alive after being thrown underneath. Cancun firemen were requested at the scene to assist with the removal of the man who was found trapped under the truck.
Emergency responders crawled under the industrial vehicle to find a set of tires centimeters from the man while his bicycle laid beside him completely crumpled.

He was found under the vehicle in a seated position after becoming partially stuck within the frame of his crumpled bicycle.
The accident happened around 4:00 p.m. when the man was riding along Arco Vial Norte Avenue. As he approached the roadway intersection with Rancho Viejo, he was hit by the turning dump truck.
The front tires of the truck hit his bike, knocking him off at which time he began to scream. The driver of the truck heard him and stopped.
His bike was found crushed after being run over by the front left tire, however, the man was not seriously injured despite being tossed under the vehicle.
Paramedics found him seated under the truck. They took 59 year old Tomás “N” to a Cancun hospital for a possible fracture to his right leg.

Municipal Transit, who also responded to reports of the accident, took the dump truck driver, 71 year old José “N” in for questioning. According to initial information, José “N” was making a right turn to enter a gas station when he hit the bicyclist.
