Tulum, Q.R. — A woman reported to be of Canadian origin died by drowning off a coastal area of Tulum Wednesday. She was found after reports of a floating body Wednesday morning by condo residents in the Tankah coastal area.
The woman was pulled from the water around 10:45 a.m., however, she was not responsive to resuscitation efforts. An ambulance was requested by condo staff to assist a guest, however, paramedics arrived only to confirm her death. Police and Civil Protection also arrived in response to the report of the drowning.
According to information available, the woman was a Canadian tourist and was with her husband on the beach at the time of the accident. The unidentified woman is said to have been around 55 years of age.
