Bus passengers forced to break windows to escape when driver hits ditch near Tulum

Tulum, Q.R. — A staff bus carrying employees from a Riviera Maya hotel was found ditched early Thursday morning. Passing motorists reported the stuck bus around 7:00 a.m. when the bus driver somehow lost control and left the highway, ending up ditched.

Three from inside the bus were reported injured, while others were reported to have minor bumps and bruises. Most of the employees on the bus were reportedly asleep when they were suddenly jolted awake.

Once the bus stopped, they realized the door was stuck closed by a tree and the only way out was through the windows. The staff bus was traveling along the highway from Felipe Carrillo Puerto to their work place in Tulum when the accident happened.
