Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Playa del Carmen police were at the scene of a shooting early Friday that left a bar bouncer injured. Several units responded to the city center reports of gun fire outside a popular men’s club.
The incident happened at the No Men’s Club at the city’s main intersection of Avenida Juárez and Playa del Carmen Boulevard. Early reports say the armed subject who fired the shots did so outside the club.
While firing toward the building, a bar bounder was hit in the leg. It is not clear if he was a target or collateral damage. Initial reports say the bouncer was hit by a bullet in his calf and taken to hospital for treatment.

According to initial reports, witnesses reported two men on a motorcycle arriving and opening fire against the building. At least six shots were reported.
The area was cordoned off by municipal police officers while forensics collected evidence from the area including spent shell casings.
So far no one has been arrested.
