Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — The bodies of three men, all of whom had been reporting missing, were found Sunday dead inside an abandoned taxi. The unit, a Chetumal taxi that was reported missing last month, was located on a public road around 7:30 p.m.
Police arrived to find three dead men inside the cab after a 9-1-1 report was made to emergency services. The Chetumal taxi was reported missing along with its driver on August 22.
The driver, 38 year old Armando Jesús “A” was reported missing after leaving home for work August 21 and failing to return. His body was one of the three found inside the missing unit Sunday.
The discovery was made on a road near the community of Calderitas. The three missing men were from the city of Chetumal. In a brief statement, local authorities said an investigation has been started.
“The FGE of Quintana Roo opened an investigation for the crime of qualified homicide (…) which occurred in the municipality of Othón P. Blanco.
“This Social Representation is carrying out the corresponding studies to identify the bodies found inside a compact car that was used as a taxi and which is related to the disappearance of a male person in the state capital.
“The State Attorney General’s Office will keep the population informed of the progress of the investigations and reaffirms its commitment to find the person or persons responsible for this event.”
