Tulum, Q.R. — A man and woman who are believed involved in a 2021 kidnapping in Tulum have been arrested. Esmeralda “H” and Arturo “R” were taken into custody in an undisclosed city of Baja California Sur Wednesday.
According to a briefing by the Quintana Roo FGE, they were detained on outstanding arrest warrants by elements of the Procuraduría General de Justicia (PGJE) of Baja California Sur.
Both have been returned to the state of Quintana Roo where they will face charges in the December 2021 kidnappings in Tulum. The state’s FGE did not provide additional details. In their post, they only reported “intelligence work by the FGE of Quintana Roo located Esmeralda “H” and Arturo “R” in Baja California Sur, who were detained by elements of the PGJEBCS.
“Both have already been transferred to Quintana Roo and will remain at the disposal of the judicial authority that requires them for their probable participation in the crime of disappearance of persons that occurred on December 11, 2021, in the municipality of Tulum.”
