Authorities shut down Tulum “glamping” party, seize truck load of alcohol

Tulum, Q.R. — Authorities in Tulum shut down a Saturday night party and the business hosting it after a group of people were found celebrating with alcoholic beverages, which have been restricted.

The group of party-goers were discovered by authorities after neighbor complaints, to which police responded. The municipal government implemented an operation after the neighbor reports where it was found that the business, nor its guests, were complying with the municipal coronavirus restrictions.

The group were discovered celebrating at Glamping Libelula Tulum boutique hotel in the Tulum coastal area where authorities found more than 20 people participating in a party. The business was immediately shut down for not complying with the official provisions to remain closed and without the sale of alcohol.

Commander Nesguer Ignacio Vivencio Méndez authorized the dispersing of the crowd and closure of the business by elements of Public Security and elements of Municipal Health. No one was detained, but the alcoholic beverages, which filled the back of a pickup truck, were seized.
