Tulum, Q. R. — A property was seized Thursday by state officials in the town of Tulum. The property is located in the coastal area and was seized after human remains were found.
Authorities began investigating the property Wednesday. Elements of the investigation unit of the FGE for the Disappearance of Persons arrived at the kilometer 7.3 Boca Paila-Tulum location late Wednesday in response to a tip.
Several bodies were reported found in grave on the property that will be identified pending the results of forensic tests.
Police were tipped off to the location by an anonymous call Wednesday. Municipal, state and federal armed forces verified the report of a clandestine grave then proceeded to cordon off the area during a search operation.
Authorities were at the scene around 8:00 p.m. where two bodies were reportedly found late that night along with other human bones that could correspond to three different people.
The property was insured by the FGE of Quintana Roo under the Investigation Unit of the Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Combating the Disappearance of Persons.
