Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police continue to look into the death of a local man found laying outside a convenience store. The body of an adult male reported to be in his 30s was found Friday night in Playa del Carmen.
Municipal police were sent to an address at the intersection of 28th Street and 115th Avenue in the Ejido neighborhood in response to a report.
A passerby reported seeing the man slumped over beside a grey and white power box in the store’s front parking lot Friday night.
Early information says the man was known in the area for his alcohol consumption and is believed to have died from alcohol poisoning.
The deceased man has not been named since he was found without any identification.
His body was removed from the front area of the store Friday night for an autopsy to determine the official cause of his death.
