Authorities in the state of Aguascalientes arrest Cancun suspect wanted for child pornography

Cancun, Q.R. — A man wanted in Cancun on child pornography charges was arrested in the state of Aguascalientes Wednesday. Abel “N” was taken into custody in joint collaboration with the FGE of Quintana Roo and the FGE of Aguascalientes.

Able “N” is seen here being escorted through the Cancun International Airport upon his return to the state to face charges.

His official arrest was made by National Guard and the U.S. National Security Investigation Attaché Office in Mexico on an outstanding warrant. Abel “N” was wanted “for his alleged involvement in acts that likely constitute the crime of human trafficking in the form of child pornography,” authorities reported Thursday.

On Wednesday night, he was escorted through the Cancun International Airport to a waiting FGE truck outside after being returned to the state of Quintana Roo to face charges. His arrest stems from an investigation by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Crimes of Trafficking and Exploitation following a complaint from the Scientific Directorate of the National Guard, stating that the U.S. National Security Investigation Attaché in Mexico channeled a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children after detecting child pornography material through a digital platform.

“Based on the above, the FGE of Quintana Roo requested and obtained from a judge an arrest warrant against the accused, which was executed after technological, field and office investigations in the state of Aguascalientes, from where he was transferred to this municipality,” the FGE explained.
