Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — An elderly man died Wednesday after crashing his 4×4 into the back of a stopped semi trailer. The accident happened on the highway between two ejido properties where the man was driving his ATV.
While traveling the highway, he collided with the underside of a semi trailer that had stopped allegedly without hazard lights. The elderly driver of the ATV failed to realized the semi was not moving.
According to statements from Rural Police officers, the accident occurred around 6:20 a.m. on the federal highway between near the towns of Sergio Butrón Casas and Carlos A. Madrazo.

The driver of the ATV was not wearing a helmet when he hit the back of the trailer and was tossed from his ATV onto the pavement. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The man, identified as old Osvaldo “L” in his late 60s, was heading to his property at the time of the collision.
