ASF review finds Tulum 115 million short in 2021

Tulum, Q.R. — The whereabouts of more than 115 million peso is being looked into by the Superior Audit Office of the Federation (ASF). The municipal coffers of Tulum came up short during a recent review by Auditoría Superior de la Federación (ASF) who reported the money as unaccounted for between January and September of 2021.

According to the ASF, 115,553,900 peso, corresponding to Branch 28, cannot be located. “The destination, orientation, or exercise of the expense was not identified,” agency said in their report.

The ASF reported that it was not clarified where they money was spent “given the lack of specific accounting and budgetary records of the expenditures financed with the resources assigned from January to September 2021,” which would be from the last administration.

The Superior Audit of the Federation refrained from issuing an opinion or additional information.
