Tulum, Q.R. — Police attended to a highway accident that involved one of their own Saturday. During a vehicle chase, the driver of a state patrol truck slammed into the base of an electrical tower.

The incident happened in the Cristal neighborhood while authorities were chasing a white Honda CR-V reported as suspicious.
The police pursuit started after an alert was issued by the C-2 regarding five people on board the vehicle performing unusual maneuvers.
In response, state and municipal police deployed an operation to locate the vehicle. When the vehicle was found traveling the federal highway, the driver of a state unit lost control and went off the road.
The police truck reportedly drove in the vegetation until it came to a stop after crashing a CFE tower.
Officers from inside the truck were evaluated at the scene by paramedics and found to be without injuries. There are reports that arrests were made as a result of the police pursuit that involved a total of seven vehicles.
During the chase, the car’s occupants were seen tossing items out the windows. Police were able to recover some of those items.

On Saturday, Tulum Police reported the arrests of Eudith “N” and Jorge Moisés “N”, both originally from Mexico Cit, during a coordinated action within the Tulum Shield strategy with agents from the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office. During the operation, the marijuana and crack cocaine were seized.
