Tulum, Q.R. — A woman has died and a man, seriously injured after a motorcycle accident along the Tulum highway. Emergency responders were sent to the scene just after 2:00 pm. Friday near Cenote Azul.
When they arrived, Civil Protection operational director Juan Carlos Medina Sosa reported locating a deceased woman and an injured man. Preliminary reports say the couple were traveling on the motorcycle when the front tire exploded, causing the driver to lose control where it skidded for several meters before coming to a stop.
An ambulance did arrive and provide first aid, however, the woman was pronounced on scene. The deceased female, who was the passenger, has been identified as 42-year-old American Jacquelin M. The identity of the male driver, who is also American, has not been released, nor has the state of his condition.
