Tulum, Q.R. — Federal police were called to the small fishing village of Gustavo Rojo Gómez Monday after being notified of a large suspicious package on the beach.
Federal police, along with personnel from the Mexican navy, headed to the area of Punta Allen in the municipality of Tulum to inspect the finding. When they arrived, they discovered a large secured package of what turned out to be drugs.
The package, which was torn open on one side, was secured with rope and wound in plastic. Inside, police found 42.7 kilos of cocaine. It was handed over to la Fiscalía General de la República in Playa del Carmen.
