United Airlines makes first landing at Tulum International

Tulum, Q.R. — The International Airport of Tulum has received another U.S. airline. On Sunday, a United flight from Houston landed at the ‘Jungle Airport’ in the middle of Quintana Roo at the state’s newest airport.

The United plane, carrying 146 passengers, landed at Tulum around noon. The plane was greeted on the ground with a traditional water arch as it made its way toward the gates.

In a long weekend note, Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama made mention of the United landing at Tulum.

“The first flight from Houston on United Airlines arrives at Tulum. Welcome to the first 146 passengers who arrive through this great airline to the heart of the Mayan zone!”

Earlier this week, both American and Delta airlines landed at the new Tulum airport, marking the first international flights. The airlines officially connected Tulum with Dallas/Ft. Worth, Newark/New York, Houston and Chicago.
