Ultramar announces reduced Playa del Carmen-Cozumel ferry service

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Ultramar says it too, has reduced ferry crossings from Playa del Carmen abd Cozumel, announcing the suspension of four runs.

The company announced the suspension of their four runs, which they say is effective immediately and includes the 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. departures from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel and the 2:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. departures from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen.

Through a statement, Ultramar reported:

“WE INFORM OUR USERS OF THE ADJUSTMENT OF SCHEDULES ON THE PLAYA DEL CARMEN – COZUMEL ROUTE, CONSISTENT WITH THE SITUATION ARISING FROM THE HEALTH CONTINGENCY. WE REITERATE OUR COMMITMENT TO STRENGTHEN PREVENTION MEASURES FOR THE PROTECTION OF OUR USERS AND COLLABORATORS.”

While ferry services between Cancun and Isla Mujeres have not been reduced, the company says starting immediately, they are making the trips every 45 minutes rather than the usual departures of every 30 minutes. Changes in the schedule include departures at both Isla Mujeres and Gran Puerto.

Earlier this week, Winjet also announced a reduction of ferry services on the Cozumel, Playa del Carmen route.
