Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Three men have been captured for the beating death of a taxi driver earlier this month. On Sunday, the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) of Quintana Roo reported on their arrests.
According to the state agency, “the defendants are accused of events that occurred on April 17 of the current year.” They were taken into police custody on arrest warrants for homicide in the murder of a Playa del Carmen taxi driver last week.
José “G”, Josué “T” and Gregory “H” are believed involved in the beating death of a taxi driver on April 17. The FGE reported that “the events that led to the arrest of the three people occurred on April 17 of this year in the municipality of Solidaridad. According to a witness statement, Gregory “H” and Josué “T” intercepted the taxi to remove its driver, whom they beat repeatedly until he was killed.”
On April 17, the body of a Playa del Carmen taxi driver was found along a section of highway north of the city. The body was discovered a distance from his car. The unit was located after a separate citizen report of an abandoned taxi.
