Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The body of a Playa del Carmen taxi driver was found along a section of highway north of the city. The body was discovered early Tuesday a distance from his car.
Police responding to the 911 report of the body found the taxi driver’s car further down the highway from where the body was reported. The unit was located after a separate citizen report of an abandoned taxi.
The unidentified driver was found dead around 7:00 a.m. He was reported beaten to death. Forensic personnel moved to the second scene, which was the location of the taxi, from where they began collecting evidence.
