Suspects captured in murder of bagged PDC woman’s body

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The State Attorney General’s Office says they have captured two suspects in the recent murder of a Playa del Carmen woman.

Erisai “N” and Leydi Yusim “N” have been arrested in connection with the murder after a woman’s body was found dismembered and stuffed in black bags Tuesday. The finding was made by city workers during the morning garbage collection in the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood.

The pair were arrested “for their alleged participation in acts that could constitute the crime of femicide,” the State Attorney General said. The pair were arrested by Municipal Police of Solidaridad.

“Those now detained are allegedly accused of events that occurred on October 14 of this year, at a home located on 40th North Avenue in the Centro neighborhood. Initial field, office and technological investigations by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating the Crime of Femicide link the victim to drug related crimes in the form of drug dealing,” the FGE (Fiscalía General del Estado) reported in a statement.

“The now deceased was allegedly deprived of her liberty and subsequently taken to the aforementioned place where she was killed. Her body was then placed in plastic bags, then transported by vehicle and abandoned on the street.

“Through video surveillance cameras it was possible to follow the route of the vehicle and arrest the two people probably involved in the aforementioned femicide.”
