Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The suspect arrested in shooting of a central Playa del Carmen bar has now been charged with attempted homicide. On Wednesday, the State Attorney General’s Office reported the additional charge.
“On September 27 of this year, the accused carried out several detonations towards an establishment located on 12th Street and Fifth Avenue in the Centro neighborhood, leaving as collateral damage an injured woman,” they said.
The man fled but was arrested a few streets later. Initially, he was charged for the shooting of the club, however, he has since had an additional charged added regarding the woman he injured.
The man, identified as Carlos Mario “N”, will now also face attempted homicide charges. “The connection to the process was made of a male person for his probable participation in the crime of attempted homicide to the detriment of a woman of foreign nationality,” they said.
