Bacalar, Q.R. — Two men reported missing from the municipality of Bacalar have been found alive. On Monday, state officials reported finding the men alive after an organized search. The pair were part of four men that went missing together on October 3.
“In an operation to search for four missing persons in the communities of “El Gallito” and Melchor Ocampo, investigative police found, on Monday morning, two men deprived of their liberty on October 3 of this year.
“The search was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of the Navy, the National Guard, the Ministry of Citizen Security and the State Search Commission.
“The people located, Samuel Pool Us and Mario Francisco Sánchez, were found on a dirt road with difficult access,” the FGE reported without providing details as to where they has been or how they arrived on the road.
Local authorities did not say how they located the two men, but have said their search continues for the other two. All four men had missing persons reports issued by the state after their families reported them missing last week. They are from the community of Miguel Alemán in the municipality of Bacalar. On Sunday, their families blocked a highway demanding evidence of a search.
“FGE personnel continue by air and land with the search for two more people reported missing on the same date as those mentioned. For these actions, they have helicopters, drones and canine elements,” the State Attorney General reported.
