Bacalar, Q.R. — A group of family members demanding proof of a search effort for four missing men blocked a highway Sunday. Dozens of drivers were stuck and unable to travel due to the Chetumal-Huay-Pix highway road block.
The four men were last heard from October 3 after leaving their place of employment in the city of Chetumal. The four men, reported to all work at a meat packing plant, left the city of Chetumal for the community of Miguel Alemán in the municipality of Bacalar.
The men were headed to a community ranch when they disappeared. On Sunday, relatives of the four men blocked the major roadway, demanding evidence of a search to find them.
The group arrived with enlarged versions of the men’s missing persons posters. Other had signs that read “they only went out to work”. Relatives are hoping to speed up the investigation in order to find the men still alive.

The missing men have been identified as José Guadalupe Rodríguez Avilez, 28 years old, Samuel Pool Us, 20, Mario Francisco Sánchez Solórzano, 45, and Juan Carlos Bello Galván, 34. The men were last heard from October 3 after arriving at the ranch in Miguel Alemán Velazco.
