Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — For the second time in months, a gas station at Punta Maroma was robbed at gun point. Gas station attendees said two young people arrived armed with guns and demanded money.
Both were wearing face masks and ball caps. They pointed a gun at staff, demanding their money. Unlike last time, the pair did not enter the attached convenience store, but instead, rob the attendants outside.
On January 29, the same location was robbed at gunpoint by two men. As before, the pair fled the scene aboard a motorcycle, heading down the federal highway. Gas station attendants did say that this time, the motorcycle entered a dirt road near Punta Maroma that leads to rural settlements.
