Bacalar, Q.R. — A woman was killed Sunday night on the Reforma-Bacalar highway. An ambulance was requested around 10:00 p.m. by witnesses who watched as the woman was hit and left for dead.
At the scene witnesses reported watching as the vehicle that hit her kept going. A lack of light made it difficult for police to get a description of the car. The unidentified woman was crossing the road when she was struck.
Paramedics who responded to the report found her laying in the centre of the highway. She was found to be dead upon their arrival. Bacalar authorities have not commented on what has turned out to be a fatal hit and run.
On Friday, a 47 year old woman was run down by a vehicle as she crossed a Bacalar roadway with a group of people. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver in that pedestrian accident was arrested from the site of the accident.
