Bacalar, Q.R. — A pedestrian was killed Thursday after being hit by a car on the federal 307 highway. National Guard were first on scene, locating the deceased woman in the center of the road.
Initial reports indicate that the 47 year old woman was walking in a small group across the highway when she was struck by a grey hatchback. The vehicle involved stopped and the driver arrested from the scene near the Bacalar bypass.
The pedestrian accident reportedly happened around dawn. Medical personnel confirmed her death at the scene. Police did not comment on charges.
