PDC to get 327 additional cameras that will connect to the new C2

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Security around the city will be reinforced with the addition of 327 surveillance cameras at strategic points in Solidaridad, reported Mayor Campos.

With more cameras, the monitoring of the city will be expanded, Lili Campos said in her weekly report.

Campos highlighted that the 327 cameras will be connected to the C2 of Playa del Carmen, which once installed, will reinforce surveillance and rapid reaction operations through permanent monitoring at strategic points in the city.

She noted that the C2, which is still under construction, is about 90 percent complete.

“We are investing more than 5.9 million pesos to monitor a total of 327 cameras located along the federal highway bridge, Fifth Avenue, the entrances to the city and neighborhoods and subdivisions such as Villas del Sol and La Guadalupana to prevent the commission of crimes and guarantee citizen security,” Campos explained.

Campos also thanked the Secretary of Public Security for their work in safeguarding citizens during Carnival with 131 operating elements, 21 patrols and 18 motorcycle patrol.
