Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Playa del Carmen man has been charged with murder and attempted murder after attacking two people in La Guadalupana. In a statement from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), Fabián “C” has been charged in the January 2023 event that claimed the life of one of the attacked.
According to the Office, the attack took place on January 5, 2023 in La Guadalupana in the northeast area of the city. José “A” and Diana “C” were both allegedly shot by Fabián “C” as they stood outside a taxi.
Both were transferred to hospital where José “A” later died. He died after, according to the FGE statement, he was shot in the abdomen, chest and face. Diana “C” was injured in the right leg. After the shooting the two subjects fled, which lead to a police pursuit.
Two men, one of which was Fabián “C”, were captured. The second man arrested, Cristian “N”, was later released.
The FGE says they continue to search for the whereabouts of the second man believed involved, Héctor “N”, who is reported to be the alleged mastermind of the attack on José “A” and Diana “C”.
