Nationwide alert issued for two wanted in Xcaret Hotel Shooting

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two arrest warrants have been issued against two men believed related to the January Xcaret Hotel shooting. The State General Prosecutor has announced the countrywide warrants for the arrests of Óscar B and Óscar O.

Playa del Carmen prosecutors requested and obtained two arrest warrants against Óscar B and Óscar O for their probable participation in the January 21 shooting that left two dead and one injured.

In a press release, the FGE stated “the participation of Óscar B apparently consisted of having hired Christian R and Óscar O, among others, to deprive people of foreign origin of life. The participation of Óscar O consisted of shooting the victims in the hotel.”

The FGE noted that a nationwide alert has been issued against both men with their respective arrest warrants.

Last month, Mexican national Christian R and Canadian national Nhu T, were arrested for their part in the shooting. Both have already had their day in court, which lead to official charges of aggravated homicide and attempted homicide being laid.
