Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The upcoming command center is around 70 percent complete announced Playa del Carmen mayor Lili Campos. Campos made the update with Security Secretary Raúl Tassinari.
Campos says the new command centre will be used to reinforce security in the most visited destination in Quintana Roo.
“We are ready for another successful vacation season,” said the mayor, who also highlighted the installation of new surveillance cameras on Fifth Avenue. She said that cameras have also been installed at the entrances to the three police filters at Cancún-Playa del Carmen, Tulum-Playa del Carmen and Valladolid-Playa del Carmen, as well as the bridges, in the community of Villas del Sol and the main avenues of the city.
Campos did not specify how many cameras were installed around the city. There was no anticipated completion date reported for the PDC command centre.
