Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man police believe responsible for the murder of a Playa del Carmen resident has been charged. Ignacio C has been formally charged with murder after being arrested earlier this week.
He was picked up and charged with the murder of an unnamed man that took place April 23. In a news briefing, local authorities say that the murder took place inside a home located in Colonia Ejido when, during an argument, he picked up a knife and stabbed the unidentified man.
The man died on scene after having bled to death from a neck wound. Neighbors who heard the arguing called police, however, as they were arriving, neighbors pointed to a blood soaked man running away.
The man, now identified as Ignacio C, was arrested and has since been charged in the death. Authorities say he will remained jailed during his trial.
